Before I start writing this blog, I actually went through a lot of consultation about whether I should start blogging or not and that process continued untill one day I decided to give it a go. yeah! it took me more than 3 years to be here at this writing platform and sharing with you guys about something which I’m head-over-heels for my life.
I would not take so long if it wasn’t for the consultation because most of them asked me not to go for fashion blogging as they felt that I’am not “pretty” enough to be like one. Anyway, I struggled a lot to believe in myself and face the world.
Why into this
Coming from a “Sanskari” Indian family, I was always told to stay modestly in order to be safe. I remember my aunt used to suggest me about what should I go for my higher studies as a female because according to her there are certain profession which are not safe for me (because I’m a female).
I thank my stars all the time for that I have been blessed with amazing parents in the world who going against all odds believe in me and help me choose the career of my choice.
Growing in Indian society and be fashion fabulous is not an easy task, to be very honest India and fashion has no good relation. What we see everyday on instagram and other social media only shows the handful but ground reality is different. Most of us here believe that this western culture is responsible for increasing rate of crime against women! If I talk about my own family, there was a time when I had to explain them for wearing even denim or pants instead of “salwar kameez”!.
But I would not listen to them even if I had to face a lot for denying that. well! I have come a long way from fighting for wearing trouser to now when I’m writing about fashion.
I always dreamt of fashionable India a place where people will welcome trends, be style conscious and most importantly won’t blame fashion for any crime against women.
The reason why I start fashion blogging is to make everyone understand how important it is to stay stylist ,it will not only enhance your personality but will make your everyday life interesting. You would feel more confident than ever before to face anything and everything. If i can do you can definitely do. Trust me.
With the help of my blog I will introduce you to the latest trends, how to experiment and style different fashion pieces, and mostly I’ll cover the street style according to different Indian places, but please forgive me if I could not fake things and present to you the reality. you will also come to know about many such amazing places which are yet unknown to many.
My fashion journey
I’m starting my fashion journey from this beautiful state of India known as the state of festivals yes! u guessed it right “Nagaland” it is! one of the amazing state of “seven sisters”( the seven states of north-east India) and pride of India. Enriched with flora & fauna , this places is definitely giving you a goal of going green and hold onto global warming as much as possible.
Nagaland is famous for a reason ,now that is something “hot” yes! I’am talking about the “Ghost Chily” or locally named as “Bhut Jholokia” is one of the hottest chillies in the entire world. The people here are adventurous, smart and beautiful.
I would not get any place better than this especially when I’m writing about fashion because everybody here is their own stylist and they bring on fashion trends on the streets so glamorous that sometimes the best dressed of the paris fashion week would feel like loosing around them. You won’t believe it but many a times I have been outstyled by some elderly people on the streets.
I’am going through a “mantra” now if they are wearing it than it is definitely trending. Sometimes walking through the streets I feel like walking in the NY city. You heard me right! If I talk about women security , this place has topped the list of the most secured state of India, you just cannot asked for more. We think of freedom and people here are living in freedom. You really have to come here to believe it.
The state of Nagaland has 16 tribes with distinct customs, language and traditional wear. And the most interesting part is everybody here understand and speak “English” so no communication gap!. I’ll talk moe about this eventually in my upcoming post.
When it comes to my maiden post “Outfit” I could not get anything better than this brand which has been my saviour for quiet a long time. I remember my fresher’s day at college, all my friends were busy getting luxury stuffs and I was like what should I wear, no way I would get some high-end brand because my pocket-money was very limited unlike my other friends.
I got only 1000 bucks to spend on anything I could get with that after the whole budgeting process. So, after much exploring I got a dress of this brand without spending much, and you won’t believe me I managed to look good and won many hearts with that quirky and boho piece(totally my thing).
I almost depended upon this brand till date. For me fashion is not just what I wear but it is an “emotion”. So I’m dedicating my first fashion post to “Forever 21”for being there with me in my all ups and downs and teach me that one could definitely look good and trendy without hurting one’s pocket.
Take a look at some of the pictures I’m putting down here, and this no definite area that I could mention to you. This is all about Nagaland’s street yeah! all green everything.
why this outfit
When I got my hands on this skirt ( it was out of stock once) ,I like it for many reasons:
- I love wearing skirts
- The colour
- stripes because i like all kind of them and it is really “trending” now
- The design of this skirt is wrap and also you can style it in many different ways and nothing like our usual skirt.
All above pretty much sum up why I took it for my first post. And now comes the pairing part , the top also steals my heart the moment I saw it:
- The colour
- Butterfly sleeves (it has been ruling all over fashion industry for the past one year)
- Wrap design, this feature has been trending this season like a storm
- And I found all of the above in a single piece so without any wait I said “Yes to the top”
- With some minimal accessory I prepare this outfit for a perfect day out look.
I chose to wear mules instead of some heels or gladiators( you can try both) because this is the season of that kind of shoes and along with a bag which has become fashion industry’s latest obsession.
And after coming back home and looking at the pictures I realised that I just experimented a beach look for a day out…hahahaha…
I’m leaving you with more pictures. please enjoy and Thank you so much for stopping by and giving your precious time for me. until
