I came here for the sake of visiting a new place and now it has become home to me. This place is developing a special spot in my heart with every passing day. Yes! I’m talking about “Nagaland” the land of eternal beauty and mother nature’s alluring creation. The rich culture and authenticity of the people here is beyond my stock of words.Their ethnicity is everything which is making this state “queen of all“.
People here are far more advanced in terms of “Fashion, Music and Dance”, there are many unattended talents you will find among the crowd who can give many Bollywood icon run for their money. hahaha…
Starts with Dimapur
So, it is my second week in Nagaland and currently I’m in “Dimapur” which is the largest city of Nagaland , India also known as the “city of river”.This place works as a gateway to the state and plays an important role in terms of trade and commerce. This city is a commercial hub of the entire region and if you are a shopaholic and looking for a place to buy your heart out, I tell you my friend this is the place.
There are many shopping centers and markets here which are selling imported goods from Thailand, China and Burma which is making it the hottest destination for tourists visiting Dimapur. The place is very vibrant and happening. People from all walks of life are extremely style conscious and fashion sort of runs in their veins.
I kind of remember “Bangkok” every time I walk on the streets of Dimapur. If you come here I can bet my bottom dollar you will get the same vibe
I came here 2 days back and have rented an apartment, just to get a better picture of this place. After I made few friends, I came to know about this cafe which is actually new in town and almost everybody(I came to know in these 2 days) here has recommended me this cafe. So I put it on my visit list on top.
And here I’m starting my Dimapur hopping with this cafe known as “Cafe Bae”. As much as I came to known this cafe is actually a “symbol of friendship”. Built and owned by 2 friends (Lt) Anushri Jain and Talikumla Aier . After the unfortunate demise of Anushri Jain, Talikumala Aier is running it in the sweet memory of her Bae.
This is the reason why it has got a special place in everyone’s heart. The interior is all about modern art which is full of eco-friendly, recyclable, and quirky stuffs. you can find converted old magazines, light bulbs and old bottles into beautiful decorative piece. Every corner seems to call you for a selfie and you just can’t afford to ignore that.
The cafe serves some mouth-watering and lip smacking vegetarian food which you can definitely dig into without hurting your pocket much. I’m getting you some pictures of this place, please take a look and prove me wrong if you can.
What I wore
Now comes the most difficult part for a girl’s life” what to wear” and starts with “I have nothing to wear” and I know I’m not alone in this. I’m new to this city so for a casual day out look I chose this outfit which is in fact too catchy and matches with the green vibe of Dimapur, especially the skirt which is all about “Tropical”(Trend alert). This print has taken over the fashion industry for this season.
Now, I personally find it progressively refreshing and this is the only trend I would follow without much thinking because it is not only reminding us of saving the “green”(the trees) and go green but also we are getting a piece of that in our daily life by simply imprinted it on our clothes.
You can definitely pair it up with any kind of shirt, t-shirt, bralette or a crop top as I did. But, don’t go overboard with colour while choosing the top, because your motto here is to give this print(tropical print of the skirt) the priority and keep everything else subtle. Well! I find crop tops extremely feminine or may be I like my waist line(just joking). So I always prefer crop tops with midi and maxi skirts( mostly A-line and flared) provided you can carry that look in the chosen venue while in India. And, in order to get that extra oomph! “layer it up”(the only mantra to look chic with subtle style). Here I did layer with a stripe shrug( all kind of stripes are in trend now).
For shoes I can’t think of anything else other than “Mules”(trend alert) because come on they slip on easily.Keeping everything else (accessory) minimum(purpose is day out) I’m finishing my look. And I just make sure that my bag and shoes go well with each other, (not necessarily have to match).
Here I’m leaving you with some pictures and if you ever plan to come here you could easily carry something like this(talking about my outfit) without much thinking(which I do all the time).
Until next time stay fashionable and thank you so much for your time. I’ll come up with new places and more outfit ideas please follow for more. xoxo…
