Hello and welcome to my blog,
Dimapur has becoming a real heaven to me the people and their hospitality is beyond my explanation. After much exploring and wandering through the streets I finally decided to do what I’m here for.
this post is gonna be all about my first ever visit to some really exciting place which will take you back in time.
So, here I’m starting my Dimapur journey with this historical place – “Kachari Ruins”
About Kachari Ruins
Why is it called as “ruin” if it is the most visited tourist destination?! I know this might be the first thing which is striking you right now! The history behind this goes back to the “10th century” when they appeared during the “Dimasa Kachari civilization”. The Dimasa Kachari kingdom believed to be one of the most powerful kingdom of the India subcontinent.
The rulers belonged to the Dimasa people. This set of “Ruins” located in Dimapur,Nagaland are the remanent of some series of “mushroom domed piller”.It is believed that a chess like game was played there with those dooms. And was created by the Dimasa Kachari Kingdom.
While I was walking through this place,I wished if I could read that language encrypted on the stones but if only I was an archeologist I would do that and when I’m not could only see and feel it.
In fact the creation of Dimapur takes us back to the period of “Mahabharata”. This place has been named after “Hidimba” the wife if “Bhima”(one of the Pandavas). This was known as Hidimpapur, the progenitor of the “Kacharis”.Eventually Hidimbapur turned into Dimbapur and then finally to Dimapur.
So what I just described here about the “Ruins” is all I came to know through the local people and from the archeological department.
And believe me everything I saw and touched in this place tried to tell me a story and gave me that adventure which I was looking for long.
If you really want to travel back in time ( to the Mahabharata era) than this is your place. The typical encryption on the stones and those long-standing structures are enough to give you goose bumps even if you are not ready for it.
So,why wait because Dimapur is the only city in Nagaland which is connected with rail as well as with air.You can either avail train or come through air. And do not forget to book your staying and travel in advance because that is always better than to wonder. Enjoy your time here as this place has so much to give than you could possibly imagine.
What I wore
It started with a confusion, while I was going through my wardrobe I literally could not decide what to wear and contemplated a hell lot of time frowning! but then I feel like while visiting a historical place like this I could get me something which is really fresh and quirky.
So I chose this dress just to add a hint of modernization to this dated “Mahabharata era”. And not to mention this dress is everything a woman would ever want as it is
- Off the shoulder( in fashion for more than a year)
- Frills are there( trending this season)
- The colour is peach
- On top of everything gives me that comfort
I styled it with some silver toned jewellery just to pop up some colour and give this otherwise simple dress that glam.
And for my feet I had this Mary Jane and Gladiator combination shoe which is adding that extra oomph! to this entire outfit. You may find my bag similar to the colour of the shoe I’m wearing but it is not(bag is beige and shoe is pink).
And now it is your turn to tell me if I did a blunder or got that right!
What do you feel about this Peach+Pink+Beige sort of look let me know in the comment section and I think pictures will clarify all your doubts so , here you go.
